It's Tony Time - Here are our staff picks!




Lights, camera, Broadway! The stage is set for the most thrilling night of the year as we dive into our predictions for the standout performers and productions vying for the prestigious 2024 Tony Awards.

With so many deserving nominees and incredible talent on Broadway this season, the competition is intense and the stakes are high. We at YVP love a good musical so we are sharing the nominees and our picks from our favorite categories! From Hell's Kitchen to "Illinoise" join us as we travel through the major Musical award choices.


Best New Musical Nominees

“Hell’s Kitchen” - Sweet crowd pleaser about Alicia Keys’ life

“Illinoise” -  A moving and powerful musical about friends and first love

“The Outsiders” - A heartfelt coming of age tale 

“Suffs” - The compelling and complex chronicle of the Women’s Suffrage movement

“Water for Elephants” - An epic tale of the remarkable life with a traveling circus

Our pick:  Hell’s Kitchen.

Best Leading Actor in a Musical

Brody Grant, “The Outsiders”

Jonathan Groff, “Merrily We Roll Along”

Dorian Harewood, “The Notebook”

Brian d’Arcy James, “Days of Wine and Roses”

Eddie Redmayne, “Cabaret”

Our pick:  Jonathan Groff of Merrily We Roll Along. 

Our why:  Groff’s likeability and earnestness wins our hearts over every time.


Best Leading Actress in a Musical

Our why:  Circus performing, dance and puppetry for the stunningly beautiful combination we didn’t know we needed!


As we reach the conclusion of our journey through the top categories for the 2024 Tony Awards, all that's left is to announce the winners. Now, let's find out who will take home the coveted trophies in each of these highly anticipated categories.
